The Gatton Hospital has reopened after being evacuated following a suspected chemical leak.
Seven fire crews attended the William St building following reports of a chemical leak about 2pm on Good Friday.
Twenty-one patients were among those evacuated, Queensland Health confirmed, with the hospital reopening about 6.45pm.
A West Moreton Health Spokeswoman said the Gatton Hospital has reopened after being given the all-clear from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.
“Patients had been decanted as a precaution after reports of an unpleasant odour earlier in the afternoon,” she said.
“A UPS battery pack that was identified as the cause of the odour has been removed.”
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said the crews had responded to calls regarding the smell of a chemical.
She said the building had been evacuated while it was searched.
The source of the leak has been identified as a UPS battery pack in the medical imaging area.
