Police have thanked members of the public who called in with information that led to the swift arrest of three people wanted over a frightening home invasion.

Brandon Duncan, 27, Beverly Alice Faye Hinch, 37, and 21-year-old Jack Andrew Perrin alleged to have entered a Glenvale home at 11pm on Monday and threatened a man and woman at the address with a loaded sawn-off rifle.

The trio are alleged to have fled in a stolen vehicle that broke down near Pampus, southwest of Pittsworth.

Darling Downs Detective Acting Inspector Renee Garske said there appeared to be no connection between the alleged offenders and the complainants.

“At this stage, it is a random occurrence,” she said.

A/Insp Garske added the information from public led police to make a speedy arrest.

“We would like to thank members of the community for providing the information to police in relation to the suspicious activity,” she said.

Community members also provided police with CCTV that was used to identify the alleged offenders.

“We want to reassure the community that these matters are our number one priority and community safety is paramount,” A/Insp Garske said.

“We encourage members of the community to contact Crime Stoppers or Policelink with any suspicious or suspicious activity.”

The trio have since appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates charged with a range of serious property offences, armed robbery.

Reading from a police objection to bail affidavit against Mr Hinch, Magistrate Patricia Kirkman-Scroope noted it was alleged the home occupants were approached in their bedrooms with two shortened .22 rifles held at their heads with threats to “blow their brains out” while demands for property were made.

It was alleged the home occupants’ wallets and keys were stolen and the trio then left in an allegedly stolen vehicle which had stolen number plates attached, she said.

Mr Hinch was denied bail, while Mr Perrin and Mr Duncan did not apply for bail.

The trio will be back on court on February 28.
