Police search for 18yr-old driver after hatchback was stolen from Chinchilla overnight

The public is asked to be on the lookout for a suspicious Hyundai hatchback that police report is driving dangerously.

Police are tracking a blue Hyundai Accent hatchback across Southwest Queensland after it was stolen from a home in Back Ave, Chinchilla overnight.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said there had been multiple sightings of the vehicle in Roma early Sunday morning.

Its driver is believed to be an 18-year-old man who is known to police.

The QPS spokeswoman said the driver has been clocked travelling at high speeds to evade police.

Once at 8.09am in Feather Street and the second time at Raglan Street.

Anyone who observes the vehicle should phone Policelink on 131 4444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
