Police investigate Toowoomba Bikeline smash and grab

Police are investigating after four teens smashed the front window of the Toowoomba Bikeline store and stole several high-end push bikes.

CCTV shows the teens approach the Railway St store about 12.45am on Tuesday and proceed to throw rocks at the front window before kicking on the broken glass.

They get hold of several bikes, including a $6000 Stumpjumper mountain bike and ride off into the night.

Owner Marcel Grovers said it was frustrating to deal with repeated instances of theft.

“It won’t be the first time and it won’t be the last one,” he said.

In May 2021 thieves broke into the business storeroom while it was being renovated and stole about 30 bikes.

“The police were able to get most of those bikes back,” Mr Grovers said.

Anyone with information about Tuesday’s break in should phone Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
