Night of showers, severe storms forecast for city
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned of severe storms in the region today, with showers already sweeping into the city.

A severe storm warning has been issued for the Darling Downs and Warrego, with the Bureau of Meteorology warning this might bring heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and large hail to Warwick, Toowoomba, Clifton and Oakey, among other places.
Bureau of Meteorology senior meteorologist Laura Boekel said the inclement weather would build in the afternoon.
“These severe thunderstorms and the heavy rainfall may continue overnight into (tomorrow) morning,” Ms Boekel said.
“Cloudy and showery conditions are forecast for the South East for the early days of this week, before a building ridge along the east coast brings more settled weather later in the week.”
The BOM website has forecast a 90 per cent chance of storms and showers for Toowoomba today, with severe storm warnings likely.
Tomorrow the service has forecast a 70 per cent chance of showers, which could bring between 4mm and 10mm of rain to the region.
