Art lovers converging on the Garden City for the annual Grammar Art Show will have the opportunity to experience Toowoomba’s award-winning and nationally recognised street art.
Art lovers will discover a different side of Toowoomba’s art scene by joining local company Toowoomba Trails on the street art discovery tours through the city’s backstreets and laneways.
Conducted by art lover and local architect Stephanie Keays the tours are being held on March 27-28 from 9am and are open to all.
Much of the artwork was created as part of the successful First Coat Festival, which ran in the CBD for several years.
“With its developing street art culture and vibrant laneway life, Toowoomba is earning a reputation as a culturally diverse urban environment,” Ms Keays said.
“Combining art and architecture, this walk takes the art lover through some of Toowoomba’s famous street art laneways.
“Share a mix of stories about the art, architecture and insight into Toowoomba’s best food and retail places, experience a side of Toowoomba rarely seen.”
The tour passes several places on the art show’s special art trail and ends with a coffee at the Art Show Cafe, rounding out a weekend of hidden art and stories of the artists who created them.
