Jonathan Wright: Details revealed on alleged murder case

More information has been revealed in court on the alleged murder case of a young man who was killed in a shocking crash at the bottom of the Toowoomba range.

An update had been provided to a Toowoomba magistrate on an alleged murder case against Rockville man Jonathan Wright.

Police will allege the 46-year-old deliberately crashed his car into another vehicle on November 30 which led to the death of a young man.

The 33-year-old victim, Paul Sia, initially survived the crash but later died in hospital in early December.

The court was told a number of documents were missing from the police brief of evidence, and were needed before the case could progress any further.

Mr Wright’s appearance was not required during the mention of the case on Friday, January 20, however he is still in police custody.

An update on the case’s progress will be provided to the court on March 17, where Mr Wright will be represented by a new legal team.

Mr Wright is facing the following charges; attempted murder, endangering the safety of a person in a vehicle with intent, dangerous operation of a car, producing drugs, possessing drugs, entering premises with intent, and stealing from a person.
