Isaac Bock appears in Toowoomba court charged with dangerous driving causing death of teenager Grace Farley

A 20-year-old Toowoomba man charged with dangerous driving causing the death of 18-year-old Grace Farley has appeared before the city’s Magistrates Court.

During a brief mention of the case on Wednesday, Isaac Bock stood quietly beside his solicitor Nathan Bouchier who told the court that he was still waiting for the police brief of evidence relating to the matter.

Mr Bock is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driving while under the influence of liquor or a drug, driving without a licence (demerit points suspended), and breaching a bail condition.

The first three charges arise from an horrific car crash on Mackenzie St, East Toowoomba, in the early hours of March 25 in which the car he was driving slammed into a tree.

Ms Farley, who was one of two passengers in the car, suffered critical injuries and underwent a series of surgeries before succumbing to her injuries and passing away on April 30.

Her 18-year-old friend, who was the other passenger in the car, was released from hospital after treatment for less serious injuries.

Grace Farley died as a result of injuries sustained in an horrific crash in which the car she was a passenger in smashed into a tree on Mackenzie St, East Toowoomba, on March 25.

Mr Bock has not as yet been required to enter any pleas to the charges.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Natalie Bugden told the court on Wednesday that the prosecution could provide much of the brief of evidence to Mr Bouchier but that the pathology report “could take some time”.

Magistrate Clare Kelly therefore remanded Mr Bock on bail and adjourned the case for mention back in the same court on October 18.
