A Toowoomba teenager who got behind the wheel just hours after a night on the town was stopped by police swerving across the road, a court was told.

Imogene Delilah Fisk-Walsh pleaded guilty to high-range drink driving in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The court was told police stopped a car driving along James Street about 4.20am on September 11 after they saw it swerving over the road.

The 19-year-old returned a positive roadside reading, and was taken back to Toowoomba Police Station.

“While at the station she told police she had started drinking at about 2pm the previous afternoon and consumed approximately a carton of beer, two jugs of beer at the Cube Hotel and five or six more at Society nightclub,” police prosecutor Cameron Francis said.

The court was told Fisk-Walsh said to police her last drink was at about 2.30am, less than two hours before she got behind the wheel to drive home.

“Further testing confirmed an alcohol reading of 0.166,” Mr Francis said.

Fisk-Walsh, who was representing herself, declined to address the court.

Magistrate Howard Osborne convicted Fisk-Walsh, fined her $900 and disqualified her from driving for six months.
