Patrons at a major shopping centre were forced to evacuate with emergency services responding to reports of a fire.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to Grand Central Shopping Centre about 3.59pm after a fire alarm was triggered.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said a fire had been lit in a bin in a toilet at the centre, which was extinguished within five minutes of fire crews arriving.
Shoppers and staff were forced to evacuate the premises as firefighters worked to ventilate smoke from a hallway leading to the bathroom.
Patrons were able to return by about 4.30pm.
