Olympians Nat Cook and Matt Denny will join Toowoomba business leader John Wagner among the guest speakers at the Future Toowoomba lunch event on December 3.

The lunch at Wellcamp Airport will provide a critical discussion on how the region can benefit from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games legacy.

Transport, infrastructure, tourism, sport and business opportunities will be some of the major topics covered.

Volleyball legend Cook, Wagner and discus thrower Denny – who hails from Allora and went to Toowoomba Grammar – will be joined demographer Simon Kuestenmacher and local industry leaders Mark Mason (Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprises), Mike Stewart (LJ Hooker Toowoomba) and Todd Rohl (Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce).

News Corp Queensland managing director Jason Scott will host the lunch with Toowoomba Chronicle editor Jordan Philp and Sky News Queensland editor and prominent News Corp columnist Peter Gleeson.

It follows a dedicated editorial series across News Corp’s mastheads in South East Queensland, in partnership with media partners Sky News and 7NEWS, exploring ways the region could benefit from the Games over the next 30 years.

The lunch will run from 12-2.30pm at Wellcamp Airport, 1511 Toowoomba Cecil Plains Rd, on Friday December 3.
