Almost half of the units have already been snapped up in Toowoomba’s first luxury residential tower in more than two decades.

Construction is well under way at Fairleigh Residences, a six-storey development slated for land overlooking Mothers Memorial on Kitchener Street in East Toowoomba.

Along with high-end finishes and sweeping views of Queens Park, the owners of the new units will also get access to Toowoomba’s only private rooftop pool and terrace, as well as fitness and wellbeing facilities.

Developer FKG Group and its subsidiary GFG Project are expected to finish the construction by the spring of 2026.

FKG spokesman Markus Eames said the company had already sold at least eight of the apartments, with the smallest still available still from $1.75m.

“The buyer interest is (due to) proximity to the CBD while looking over all the greenery of the park and being a stone’s throw away from all that East Toowoomba offers,” he said.

“A lot of the buyers know the area well through kids and grandkids all going to our beautiful private schools.

“The majority of the buyers that we’ve encountered are familiar with Toowoomba or live in Toowoomba or live in the surrounds and I’m talking surrounds as far out as Charleville.”

Fairleigh is the first high-end apartment complex to be built since the Grosvenor Apartments on Herries Street in the early 2000s, and Mr Eames believed its success could spark interest in future projects.

“There hasn’t been another luxury apartment building like this built in Toowoomba with the finishes that we’ve done and the exclusivity of it,” he said.

“It’ll be a good litmus test for the market but certainly it’ll change the way people think of living in Toowoomba by being able to lock up and leave.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing developments like the Gasworks (on Chalk Drive) go ahead which will offer a different type of offering but similar to what we’re offering at Fairleigh.”
