Motorcyclist critically injured in New England Highway crash

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that has put one person in hospital and killed another.

Two people have died in what has been a horror three days on Darling Downs roads.

They include a motorcyclist who lost his life after he collided with a second motorcyclist on the New England Highway at The Glen, south of Warwick on Sunday.

Initial investigations indicate shortly after 11am, a group of motorcycles were travelling in convoy when one left the road way and crashed.

Paramedics, police and firefighters rushed to the scene and found a 58-year-old Regents Park man with critical chest injuries.

They performed CPR but were unable to save the man.

Meanwhile, a second motorcyclist was transported to the Warwick Hospital in a stable condition.

The tragedy came after a 32-year-old Hampton woman died when her vehicle collided head-on with a Toyota Kluger on the New England Highway about 11.20am on Friday.

The young mum, who was the sole occupant of her Tucson, died at the scene, while emergency services dismantled the side of the Kluger to free its occupants.

The driver of the Toyota, a 36-year-old Oakey woman, was flown in a serious condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Her two passengers, a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, were also seriously injured in the crash.

The girl was flown in a serious condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital while the boy was driven in a serious condition to the Toowoomba Hospital.

The crash caused significant delays to traffic along the highway, with police establishing a diversion along Merritts Creek Rd for several hours.

The Queensland Police Service Forensic Crash Unit is investigating both matters.
