Event for newborn who lost life due to SIDS rescheduled

It was a hard decision for Toowoomba dad Billy Drury to postpone the event for his daughter Bella on what would have been her fourth birthday, but now the celebration has been rescheduled.

How do you prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome?

It was a hard decision for Billy Drury to postpone the event for his daughter Bella on what would have been her fourth birthday.

But it was one he had to make due the heavy rain back in March, which would have affected his outdoor event.

Now, Something About Bella has been rescheduled to Sunday, May 30 at Willowburn Park from 11am.

The event, which is usually held around Bella’s birthday each year is a way to celebrate her life after the premmy baby passed away due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome at just four weeks old.

It is not only a way for Mr Drury to share stories of Bella but a way to raise funds for the Toowoomba Hospital’s Neonatal Unit.

The family friendly event will have a number of vendors with Tomnet cooking a barbecue, there will also be snow cones as well as delicious treats and a birthday cake made by Hoffcake Co.

There will be a variety of activities such as a ball toss, an inflatable kicking target, jumping castle, colouring competition, treasure hunt and if conditions are right there may be some skydivers dropping in from 1pm.

If you have a vehicle that you think could take out the title of best bike or car bring it along on the day between 10am and 11am for judging for your chance to win a trophy.

Entry is $10.

The event aims to raise $3500 and raises funds through raffles, food and drink sales as well as donations.
