Emergency services respond to suspicious single-vehicle crash in Centenary Heights

Investigators are searching for the driver who fled on foot after crashing a Nissan X-Trail in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police are investigating after a driver fled the scene of a single-vehicle crash in Centenary Heights.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Dawson St about 5am on Friday and arrived to find a silver Nissan X-Trail had crashed through a fence and into a tree.

One person was taken into custody at the scene.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said investigations were under way to locate the driver.

She added that the vehicle was not reported stolen at the time of the incident, but police are yet to speak with its registered owner.
