Queensland Fire Department crews have extinguished a house fire in Rangeville.
Crews responded to the blaze on Murphy St in Rangeville about 1.45pm, reporting the home was completely engulfed.
A QFD spokeswoman said all occupants of the home were out by the time crews arrived but one woman was assessed on scene and taken by paramedics to Toowoomba Hospital.
Station 11 station officer Ken Duncan said they were able to respond quickly to the blaze limiting the damage.
“We were able to get on top of the fire pretty quickly, we had a team in breathing apparatus attack the fire with a direct attack before making an internal attack to suppress the fire,” he said.
“We had smoke and fire issuing from the windows and we were able to knock it down pretty quickly.
“The response time was a positive, it has spread to a seperate room but we were able to stop it spreading further and causing further damage to the house and neighbouring properties which were at risk.”
Mr Duncan urged residents to be fire safe heading into winter.
“One thing we want to touch on is the use of smoke alarms, smoke alarms save lives with the early warning systems and allow quick egress from fires,” he said.
“Remember to check them yearly to ensure they work correctly because they save lives.
“Heading into winter is a good time to test your smoke alarms and be wary about leaving heaters unattended.”
