Emergency services are responding to a fire after a car erupted into flames right next to the Toowoomba Grammar School. It comes after a man was also thrown from a bull in the same region overnight. UPDATES.

As the garden city celebrates a busy and festive weekend, emergency services are responding to incidents across the region.

Toowoomba emergency services rushed to the scene of a car fire on Saturday morning, after it erupted into flames just metres from a prestigious school.

Fire crews rushed to the scene on Herries St near Toowoomba Grammar School just after 8am on Saturday morning.

The fire was under control within minutes of the first crew arriving at 8.10am, a Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said.

She said the incident was left in the hands of police at 8.40am.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the fire was being treated as non-suspicious.

He said reports indicated the car’s engine had burst into flames due to mechanical issues.

On Friday night, a man was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital after he was thrown from a bull in the Toowoomba region.

Paramedics responded to the incident at 9.09pm on Friday, where a man had sustained minor injuries after falling from a bull.

The incident occurred on Harvey St, Glenvale, near the Toowoomba showgrounds.

The man was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
