Crowds gather for iconic Australian bands at Queen’s Park

Thousands descended on Toowoomba’s Queens’ Park Saturday afternoon for the iconic Red Hot Summer Tour, featuring Icehouse and The Angels. Check out the gallery here.

Icehouse to tour for Great Southern Land 40th anniversary

Pouring rain and chilled winds did not keep Icehouse fan Kerrie Davies away Saturday night.

Ms Davies was one of thousands to descend on Toowoomba’s Queens Park for the Red Hot Summer Tour, featuring iconic acts such as Christine Anu, Vanessa Amorosi, Baby Animals, The Angels and Icehouse.

Previously a proclaimed groupie when Icehouse was first called Flowers, Ms Davies was joined by friends Andrew and Anne Speedie.

Thousands of music fans snapped up tickets and battled the 10 degree weather – which felt like eight degrees – to witness the iconic Australian band 40 years after the release of their hit Great Southern Land.

Music could reportedly be heard from residents in Wilsonton and Rockville.
