One of three people charged in relation to a man being set alight outside a Toowoomba hotel is to take her matters straight up to the higher court to be dealt with.
Courtney Lee Ramsey, 35, was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm arising from an incident outside The Stock Hotel on Anzac Ave about 9.50pm, September 13, 2023.
Police claim 26-year-old father of four Jordan Moore had fuel thrown on him and then set alight while talking with three people outside the pub.
A badly burnt Mr Moore walked into the hotel seeking help and was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital before being flown to a Brisbane hospital with burns to his face, neck and arms.
He had since recovered from his burns.
Ms Ramsey’s solicitor Callum Wood, of McConnell and Saldumbide Lawyers, told Toowoomba Magistrates Court this week when his client’s matters were mentioned that Ms Ramsey would be taking her charge by way of registry committal straight up to the higher court to be dealt with.
Magistrate Clare Kelly therefore remanded Ms Ramsey in custody and adjourned the case for mention back in the same court on March 6 by which time it was envisaged the case would have gone up to the higher court.
Ms Ramsey’s co-accused Codie Leigh Bird, 31, and Yves William David Greenhill, 26, who are also charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, are progressing their matters through the courts.
