Two women charged after a man was doused and set on fire outside a Harristown hotel on Wednesday night have appeared before Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

Codie Leigh Bird, 31, and Courtney Lee Ramsey, 35, are each charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm arising from father of four Jordan Moore, 26, allegedly being set on fire in the carpark of The Stock Hotel on Anzac Ave about 9.50pm Wednesday.

A badly burnt Mr Moore entered the pub seeking help and was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital before being flown to a Brisbane hospital with burns injuries reportedly to his face, neck and arms.

His condition on Friday was described as serious but stable.

The two accused women remained in the watch house on Friday morning as their respective matters were mentioned in court where they were represented by duty lawyers.

Solicitor Alysha Jacobsen, of Bouchier Khan Lawyers, for Ms Bird, told the court her client was not required in court as there would not be an application for bail at this stage.

Ms Jacobsen said a full police brief of evidence would be required and asked that the matter be adjourned.

Magistrate Kay Phillipson therefore remanded Ms Bird in custody and ordered the brief of evidence be disclosed by police by October 20 and adjourned Ms Bird’s matters for mention back in the same court on November 10.

McConnell Saldumbide Lawyers principal Chelsea Saldumbide, for Ms Ramsey, told the same court her client was subject to parole considerations and that the Parole Board was expected to sit Friday afternoon.

She asked that her client’s matters be adjourned over to Monday by which time her parole status would be known.

Ms Phillipson remanded Ms Ramsey in custody and adjourned her matters for mention and possible bail application on Monday, September 18.

Police are still investigating the matter and were looking for a man believed to have also been involved in the incident.

Anyone with information or footage is asked to call PoliceLink on 131 444 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
