Boy falls from Tabletop Mountain, Toowoomba region
A primary school-aged boy has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after falling 20 metres from the top of a mountain. Here’s what happened.

Critical care doctors and paramedics had to battle against the setting sun to rescue a primary school-aged boy who was seriously injured after falling 20 to 30 metres down the side of a mountain.
The Toowoomba-Based RACQ LifeFlight helicopter crews winched the child to safety after he plunged from almost the top of Tabletop Mountain.
Reports the boy had fallen reached LifeFlight crews on Saturday afternoon, who attended at 4.45pm.
A LifeFlight critical care doctor and flight paramedic from the Queensland Ambulance Services were winched down to provide aid to the boy.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and other QAS personnel were also on scene.
They treated the boy for head and spinal injuries.
He was stabilised and winched to safety on a stretcher and flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
