When boredom hits it can sometimes be difficult to think of something to do.

There is plenty in Toowoomba to keep you busy, but when the boredom hits it can sometimes be difficult to think of something to do.

The Chronicle has compiled a list of 21 things to beat the boredom in Toowoomba in 2021.

1. Go shopping at one of the city’s many shopping centres, such as Grand Central, Clifford Gardens and Toowoomba Plaza.

2. Have a picnic at one of the city’s many parks. There are businesses that now specialise in picnic packs which are perfect to take along.

3. Take a tour of the First Coat murals spread across the city, and stop in for a coffee at a CBD café.

4. Take a hike through the Ravensbourne National Park.

5. Go solo or get a group of friends together and climb Tabletop Mountain. If Tabletop seems like too much effort you can always just hike down the escarpment at Picnic Point.

6. Grab your bike and hit one of the many mountain bike trails in Jubilee Park.

7. Try your hand at golf at one of Toowoomba’s golf clubs, including Mini Golf at the City Golf Club.

8. Do the Russell St Historical Walk, taking in all the historic architecture like St James’ Anglican Church, the Toowoomba Railway Station, Hotel Norville and more.

9. Feed the ducks or read a book at Lake Annand Park.

10. Support our at risk youth by buying a takeaway coffee at the Emerge cafe or support our homeless by buying a coffee at 2nd Shot.

11. Enjoy a meal or coffee from one of the town’s many cafes and restaurants.

12. Explore the Spring Bluff Railway Station and gardens.

13. Go bowling at Sunset Superbowl or bowl, play arcade games and beat your friends in laser tag at Bazinga.

14. Head to iPlay for an afternoon of arcade games.

15. Head to Spacies and play old school arcade games as well as board games while having a drink with friends.

16. Go for a drive and have lunch at one of the many pubs on the outskirts of Toowoomba such as the Meringandan Pub, Cabarlah Pub, Nobby Pub and Bull and Barley Inn.

17. Relax at Rosalie Cellar Door amongst the vineyards with a wine in hand.

18. Head to one of the city’s rooftops bars and have a drink with friends.

19. Take your pooch to Bar Wunder and spend an afternoon relaxing in their back garden.

20. Get together with friends at one of the city’s wine bars such as Cork and Lever, Uva Wine Bar and Sante.

21. Head up the New England Highway and stop off in Highfields, Hampton and Crows Nest along the way.
