A TRIPLE murderer and rapist will spend another four months behind bars after viciously bashing a prison officer at the Woodford Correctional Centre north of Brisbane.
John Brian Woodman, 26, pleaded guilty on Wednesday in the Brisbane District Court to one count of seriously assaulting a corrective services officer.
Woodman had been sentenced to life imprisonment after pleading guilty to the murders of Michael Thompson, 30, and 17-year-olds David Lyons and Tyson Wilson at Mr Thompson's North Toowoomba flat on May 30, 2005.

The victims were beaten to death with metal poles and Mr Thompson was also brutalised with a hammer.
On Wednesday the court heard Woodman attacked the guard when he walked around a corner in February last year.
The guard was repeatedly punched in the face until he fell to the ground, where Woodman kicked him and stomped on his head.
It was a motiveless, brutal attack that only ended when another prisoner intervened, prosecutor Michael Lehane said.
