Toowoomba police arrest teen girl over alleged stolen car incident

A teenage girl is set to spend a night in the Toowoomba watch house after she was arrested and charged with a stolen car offence and 10 other alleged crimes.

An 18-year-old girl will spend a night in the Toowoomba Police Station watch house after she was arrested on an unlawful use of a motor vehicle charge.

Kahliah Labelle Duncan was also charges with breaching her bail conditions 10 time.

The court heard Miss Duncan entered into the bail agreement about a week prior on October 5 in the Southern Downs region.

Following the girl’s arrest, she appeared at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday, October 14, where her case was adjourned to the following day.

The court heard Miss Duncan’s lawyer needed time to find an appropriate bail address.

Police prosecutor Julia Wheaton told the court Miss Duncan had charges before the Goondiwindi Magistrates Court and asked for them to be transferred to the district for consideration during the impending bail application.

Magistrate Kyna Morice agreed to have the charges moved to the district.

The bail application is expected to be heard on Tuesday, October 15.
Miss Duncan was remanded in custody.
