Toowoomba man hit by car, another rolled at Tara during spate of late-night crashes

Firefighters are working to stabilise part of a house after a vehicle ploughed into the side of it, the latest incident in what has been a busy 24 hours on Toowoomba roads.

Emergency services have responded after a car crashed into a house, the latest incident after a series of crashes across the region in the past 24 hours.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, along with Queensland Ambulance Service, were called to Greenwattle St in Wilsonton Heights about 1.15pm after a car crashed into a house.

A QFES spokeswoman said the crash caused structural damage to the house, with crews working to stabilise one side of the home.

The car has been removed from home, with fireys working with a builder to make sure wall of the home was completely stabilised.

A QAS spokesman said multiple paramedic crews attend to treat one patient however they declined transport to hospital.

A Toowoomba man was rushed to hospital overnight after being hit by an alleged drink driver, as emergency services were kept busy responding to a spate of road crashes across regional Queensland.

A QAS spokeswoman said about 10.35pm at South Toowoomba, a man in his 30s was hit by a car on the corner of Ruthven and Long streets.

She said the man had injuries to his head and was transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the driver was arrested has since been charged with a number of offences.

The spokesman said police would allege an analysis of the man’s breath produced a reading of 0.105.

The driver has been charged with drink driving, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and obstructing police.

In an unrelated incident, a man was hurt in a crash at Withcott in the early hours of Thursday.

A QAS spokeswoman said the crash occurred at the intersection of Tabletop Drive and Toowoomba Connection Road at 3.51am.

A stable male patient in his 30s was taken to Toowoomba Hospital with a foot injury.

Earlier on Wednesday night a crash occurred at Churchable, west of Atkinsons Dam in the Lockyer Valley.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Gatton Esk Road and Atkinson Dam Road just before 9pm.

One female patient in her 30s with back pain was transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

Another single-vehicle crash occurred on the Western Downs at Tara.

The spokeswoman said a woman in her 20s injured her arm during the rollover on Stuart Development Road at 12.49am.
