A 21-year-old man is due to face court for allegedly evading police and dangerous driving, after he was arrested in dramatic scenes in the Lockyer Valley.

The man’s alleged crimes began on June 10, when officers observed an unregistered white 1996 Ford Falcon with a missing rear bumper travelling eastbound along Toowoomba-Athol Road at Westbrook.

When officers attempted to intercept him a short time later, he refused to stop.

Officers spotted the same vehicle the next day on Cleary St in Gatton, where he again refused to stop.

At 6.30am on Friday, June 13, officers were called to Forestry Rd at Adare, north of Gatton, after responding to reports of a vehicle performing dangerous acts.

When officers arrived, it is alleged the man fled from the vehicle into neighbouring properties before entering surrounding bushland.

He was later arrested by officers from Gatton Criminal Investigation Branch, Toowoomba Tactical Crime Squad and Toowoomba Dog Squad.

The 21-year-old man has been charged with 26 offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a licence, serious assault of a police officer, attempted serious assault of a police dog, evade police and obstruct police.

He is expected to appear in the Roma Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Investigations remain ongoing.
