A change in speed limits as well as a new turn-off are on the way for Top End motorists travelling on and through the new Tiger Brennan Drive overpass at Berrimah.
On Friday, the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure confirmed the right turn from Berrimah Rd onto Tiger Brennan Drive would open to the public on Saturday.
Access to and from the East Arm side on Berrimah Rd, along with the Darwin-bound off-ramp from Tiger Brennan Drive onto Berrimah Rd, will remain closed and is not expected to be open to the public until the end of April.
The speed limit for those travelling toward Palmerston from Darwin will increase from 80km/h to 100km/h at the weekend.
However, motorists travelling toward Darwin will have to continue to travel at 80km/h until at least the end of April.
The on-ramp speed will remain at 80km/h and Berrimah Rd will stay at 60km/h.
The works on Tiger Brennan Drive are jointly funded by the federal and NT governments.
