Updated - May 1, 2025: A Coolalinga family of six have walked away a quarter-of-a-million dollars richer, more than a week after Tattslotto kicked off its search for the winners.
The family — who have chosen to remain anonymous — held one of 20 division one winning entries in Tattslotto draw 4565, drawn on April 19.
Each division one winning entry pocketed $255,096, with each family member to receive a payout of $42,516, according to Tattslotto.
Because the family had not registered their entry to The Lott Members Club, lottery officials had no way of contacting them and had to wait more than a week for them to come forward and claim the prize.
One of the winning family members said it was “amazing news”.
“We’re a family syndicate, so the prize will be split between about six of us. It’s a great boost for all of us.
“It was my mother who discovered we’d won. She checked the ticket and then came over to show me.
“We took a bit longer to come forward because we waited until after Easter, when all the family was together, to let everyone know.
“It’s worked out really well. We’ve been playing for a while, but this particular ticket was just a QuickPick that we’ve been replaying for about four months.”
When asked how he planned to use his share, the father had his children front of mind.
“I’m looking forward to helping my children. It’ll be a great kickstart for them,” he said.
“It’ll also come in handy for my retirement.
The winning entry was purchased at Unique Gifts and Newsagent, Coolalinga Central.
Unique Gifts and Newsagent owner Cheryl Whelan said she was thrilled her store had sold its first division one winning entry.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw we had a winner. I was so excited,” she said.
“We are a fairly new newsagent; this is the start of our third year. We’ve had a couple of second divisions, but this is our first time selling a division one winning entry.
“I’ve been celebrating by putting up balloons and telling everyone the great news.
“I would also like to thank every one of our customers for all their support. Without you, we wouldn’t be here. Thank you so much.”
Ticket bought at Coolalinga newsagency takes out $250k win
Initial, April 22: A lucky Berry Springs punter has walked away $1.5m richer after winning big on Keno.
While not naming him, users on Facebook were quick to congratulate the man for his win.
“Bloke who won it 100,000 per cent deserves it, works a million hours a week and would do anything for anyone,” a user said.
It comes just a day after a mystery player won a staggering $250k in the Tattslotto – and the winner may not even know it yet.
The mystery player – who bought their ticket from Unique Gifts and Newsagents at Coolalinga Central – held just one of the 20 division one winning entries in Tattslotto draw 4565 that was drawn on April 19.
The winning numbers in the draw were 28, 10, 44, 21, 19 and 14, while the supplementary numbers were 33 and 23.
Each division one winning entry pocketed $255,096.86.
The Lott spokesman Matt Hart said he hoped the NT’s latest division one winner would check their winning ticket soon.
“Someone is most likely walking around completely oblivious to the fact they won a division one prize in the weekend’s Tattslotto draw,” he said.
“We’re urging anyone who purchased a Tattslotto ticket from Unique Gifts and Newsagents to check their tickets as soon as possible because they could be the mystery winner we’re searching for.
“Make sure you check your tickets, and if you do discover that you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
