Youths threw eggs at moving vehicles, police say

October 20, 9:30am: Five youths will face court after they allegedly threw eggs at moving vehicles.

Members of the public raised the alarm about the “string of egging incidents” in Launceston’s CBD on Friday, reporting to police they’d had eggs thrown directly at them or their vehicles while driving.

Four boys and a girl in a vehicle were apprehended by police a short time later and charged with a number of driving and public order offences.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle was a P-plater.

Tasmania Police has not released the ages of the youths charged.

The youths will appear in court at a later date
