Activewear brand, Lorna Jane, has shuttered its Sandy Bay store to make way for a new Hobart CBD offering.
The company opened its first Hobart store in 2014 at the Sandy Bay Rd site.
It served the people of Sandy Bay for eight years before the decision was made to relocate to the CBD.
The new store, located in the Cat and Fiddle Arcade, is a new-look concept store which also acts as click and collect point giving the store warehousing capability to keep up with local demand.
A Lorna Jane spokesman said the company had experienced a huge uptake in orders from Tasmania and wanted to mitigate delivery delays from the company’s home state of Queensland.
The company was founded more than 30 years ago by Lorna Jane Clarkson, a fitness instructor who was bored with unflattering workout fashions at the time.
She took it upon herself to create her own activewear and now has more than 130 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
