Foo Fighters spark ticket frenzy for exclusive one-off Tasmanian stadium gig
Foo Fighters fans will need to ‘Learn to Fly’ as they face fierce competition for tickets to the band’s only Australian concert when general sales begin.
Foo Fighters tickets go on sale Wednesday at 4 pm, and demand will be fierce, with the pre‑sale selling out in the blink of an eye.
The Foo Fighters January 24 concert at UTAS Stadium will be their only Australian gig.
Pre-sale tickets went live Friday, December 5 and are sold out, while Frontier had pre-sale tickets live on Monday, December 8 were also snatched up.
Foo Fighters fans need to be at the ready to get their hands on the limited tickets, which start at $99.90 for C reserve seating.
The general admission tickets for the field are $199.90.
Foo Fighters were last in Tasmania, playing in Hobart, back in 2015 at Derwent Entertainment Centre.
The band will be supported by Brisbane rockers Full Flower Moon Band, and Launceston psych trio Spooky Eyes.
UTAS Stadium, currently under renovation works, will seat around 24,000 people for the gig.
The US rock band are know to love a regional show, giving a powerhouse performance in Geelong back in 2022.
The collective cost to win the Foo Fighters single Australian stadium gig was $650,000, with the Tasmanian Government putting in $500,000 and City of Launceston giving $150,000.
The gig is anticipated to bring an 11 to 1 economic return to Tasmania.
