HUNDREDS of people descended on the Toowoomba Showgrounds at the weekend for the annual Toowoomba Swap Meet.
Event spokesman Pat Murphy said the 2019 event, now in its 47th year, was a huge success.
"There were lots and lots of people," he said.
"The southern carpark at the showgrounds was almost full.
"Any event that fills the southern carpark is a success."
The swap meet, which focuses on the sale of car parts, also featured a number of other stalls selling a number of obscure nick nacks.
"The car I'm currently restoring is a 1941 model and I was able to buy a cylinder head for the car I've got, a brand new one," Mr Murphy said.
"It's not bizarre, but it's unusual to find a part still in its original wrapper that came from that time.
"This is a brand new part (from 1941) to fit that car."
Mr Murphy said people had travelled from as far as Sydney and Melbourne to attend the Toowoomba event.
"People come from far flung places every year," he said.
The swap meet is set to return next year.
