Health and wellness coach Sharma MacDonald, of Port Noarlunga, started her fitness journey after leaving a toxic relationship.
Since then, the 26 year old has been inspiring women to jump on the fitness wagon – especially those who have chronic illnesses, like her.
Living with endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome, Sharma creates tailored fitness plans to help those with the same or similar diagnosis.
“A lot of people aren’t really educated on the matter,” she said. “In the fitness industry, it’s generally very harsh.”
Sharma creates a supportive relationship with her clients, primarily focusing on coaching women who she refers to as “my girls”.
However, while having a large presence on social media can be daunting for some, Sharma said posting photos of herself on Instagram has actually helped her confidence.
“Standing in the middle of a public gym in front of a camera was something that really helped me,” she said.

“I’ve always kind of been interested in fitness,” 27-year-old Corey said.
Corey, who is originally from far-north Queensland, said after school he enlisted in the army where he suffered some injuries and as a result was medically discharged.
“During that period I wasn’t training and I was pretty hard on myself,” he said.
“I spent a good couple of months limited in my mobility and I put on a lot of weight.”
Corey said he weighed 120kg during the said period because he wasn’t training and was “emotionally eating”.
But everything changed for him on one particular day.
“One day I was looking myself in the mirror and was like man, I need to change,” he said.
Corey then spent a year “working (his) arse off” which resulted in him losing 45kg.
“Ever since then I’ve taken bodybuilding and lifting really, really seriously,” he said.
Corey is hoping to step on stage next year in Texas.
