Radio ratings August 2024: Triple M is still Adelaide’s top breakfast show but other stations are closing in

Triple M has maintained its breakfast dominance – but the crown is slipping. See who’s next in line.

Triple M has maintained its breakfast dominance but the race for no. 1 spot has tightened considerably in the latest radio ratings.

Mark Ricciuto, Chris Dittmar and Laura O’Callaghan continue to hold pole position, though the top trio dipped 2.2 share points, which was the biggest in the timeslot, to finish with 12.3.

It’s the 12th consecutive survey in which they’ve won the all-important breakfast battle.

They’re now just ahead of ABC Adelaide’s Sonya Feldhoff and Jules Schiller (11.6) – who presented their show from Paris during the Olympics – and FIVEaa’s David Penberthy and Will Goodings (11.3), who are hot on the heels of the leaders despite slight falls in listeners.

The big movers were Nova 919’s Jodie Oddy and Andrew Hayes, who jumped up 1 share point to finish on 10.1 and leapfrog Mix 102.3’s Max & Ali in the Morning into fourth place.

Mix and SAFM’s Rebecca Morse and Mark Soderstrom remained steady on 9.9 points each and were in equal 5th position – with just 2.4 share points separating them from top spot in the timeslot.

Overall, Triple M is still Adelaide’s no.1 station again, though their stranglehold on the mantle has loosened. They dropped marginally to record 13.2 share points, ahead of Mix 102.3 which rose 1.3 to finish just behind on 12.2., followed by Nova, SAFM and Cruise1323.

Triple is also on top in the morning, afternoon and drive timeslots, while in evenings, FIVEaa’s Leith Forrest has been joined by Mix 102.3 in joint no. 1 spot, with ABC’s Jason Chong in fourth position.

This year’s fifth radio ratings survey covered a period from May 19 to June 22, and July 7 to August 10.
