A police incident on the Southern Expressway is causing peak-hour traffic chaos with cars backed up bumper-to-bumper.
The incident started at 4:20pm, with police and emergency services called to the Flaxmill Bridge at Christies Downs.
At 6pm, police said the incident was still ongoing.
The Southern Expressway is closed off between Sherriffs Rd at Lonsdale and Beach Rd at Morphett Vale.
