‘No chance to fulfil dreams’: Devoted father Christopher Cox died in motorcycle crash

A devoted father and grandfather who died in a crash between a motorcycle and truck in Adelaide’s northern suburbs has been honoured by his loved ones.

A devoted father and proud grandfather who was tragically killed in a devastating motorcycle crash last month is being honoured by loved ones.

Christopher Cox was 52 when a truck crashed into his motorcycle on January 22 on Waterloo Corner Rd, Burton at 10.45pm.

In a fundraiser created to raise money for his funeral, his friend Tara Drayton wrote “his sudden passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him”.

“Chris was a vibrant individual with dreams and plans that he never got the chance to fulfil,” she wrote.

“He had aspirations of taking his partner on a well-deserved holiday, creating lasting memories together.

“As a proud grandfather to his five-month old grandson, Chris cherished every moment spent with family. His love for them was evident in everything he did.”

His partner, Sue Hocking, wrote on Facebook a message to Chris’ daughter Tara Lee: “I am so sorry for the loss of your dad sweetheart”.

“This week has been soooo (sic) hard on you with us lossing (sic) Christopher Cox as well as you have been my tower of strength and I know I could not had (sic) gone this far with out (sic) you hun I just hope I too can help you through this.

“You the best friwnd (sic) that people only dream of having lol but I got you.

“Love you soo much hun.”

Ms Drayton said she created the fundraiser to support Ms Hocking during the difficult time and provide financial assistance to her.

Major Crash investigators attended the scene of Christopher’s crash.

He was fifth life lost on South Australian roads this year.

The 53-year-old Burton truck driver was not injured.
