Crows star Darcy Fogarty has finally come clean on his controversial tattoo of a Coopers beer can.

On Sunday, the 25-year-old full-forward shocked fans when he posted a video of himself in a Parkside parlour getting a Coopers Draught can inked on his arm.

He captioned the video: “getting something you love for your first tattoo”.

During an SAFM radio interview on Wednesday morning, Fogarty was asked if the tattoo was in fact a real one.

“It’s not. It looks good. I’m not sure how they did it but it’s slowly starting to peel a little bit at the edges,” he admitted to co-hosts Bernie Vince and Emma Georgiadis.

“It won’t be there for life but we’ll see how long it’s there for sure.”

As Vince showed off his own ink, a can of West End beer, Fogarty said he didn’t have a tattoo but would consider it in the future.

“I don’t mind tattoos. I’d get one hidden, I wouldn’t get a big one out there... I’d get a premiership tat, definitely,” he said.

The original footage, filmed at Uncle Winston’s Tattoo Parlour, showed Fogarty on the table getting the tattoo first stencilled and then inked on his right bicep as tattooist Rhys Paku held up a can of Coopers.

“It’s nearly as good as the real thing,” Fogarty said in the video.

Reactions to the tattoo was mixed as his teammate Lachlan Murphy commented, “what the”.

The Coopers Brewery Instagram accounted commented “you’ll always remember your first” on the post.

It comes as Coopers partnered with Fogarty to re-release their Draught 4.2 per cent can.

Coopers Brewery state manager Brent Felice said “great Australian beer and great Aussie rules footy go hand-in-hand”.
