A man has suffered serious injuries in a shocking crash between a van and a B-triple road train at Murray Bridge.

A man has suffered serious injuries in a horror collision between his van and a B-triple road train in Murray Bridge North early on Wednesday morning.

Mannum Rd was closed with contraflow in place around the scene of the crash near Reedy Creek Rd.

It has since re-opened about 7.15am.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene with reports a Hyundai van collided with the side of the B-triple road train about 2.15am Wednesday.

The 60-year-old male driver of the van, from Murray Bridge North, suffered serious injuries and was flown to Adelaide for treatment.

The truck driver was not injured.

Police advised the northbound lane of Mannum Rd was closed with traffic management on site but motorists should expect delays.

The restrictions remained in place until 7.15am while the truck was towed from the scene.
