A young man riding a motorcycle has died – becoming the 117th life lost on SA for 2023 – after a crash at North Adelaide.

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a young man became the 117th life lost on South Australian roads in New Year’s Eve crash at North Adelaide.
At 6.45pm on Sunday, December 31, 2023, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Robe Tce and Fitzroy Tce after reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and car.
The rider of the motorbike, a 23-year-old Elizabeth East man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.
The driver of the car, a 30-year-old Northfield man has been arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving and aggravated driving without due care.
He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on March 31, 2024.
The man’s death is the 117th life lost on South Australian roads in 2023, compared with 71 at the same time in 2022.
