Lunar Landing dessert bar opens on Kings Birthday holiday ‘due to public demand’ just days after official opening

There were queues out into the street on Monday as Adelaide’s newest dessert bar threw open its doors for the public holiday.

Dozens of eager sweet tooths were rushing to a new dessert bar in Brompton on Monday, with reports the line was “out the door” just five minutes after its 12pm opening time.

Lunar Landing, who announced its grand opening on June 1, took to Instagram on Saturday to reveal they would be operating on the Kings Birthday public holiday “due to popular demand”.

“Thank you to everyone who’s come out and tried our desserts,” they said.

“Due to popular demand we will open this public holiday. 12-6pm or (until) sold out.”

From cheese cakes and tarts, to their “signature” Full Moon mousse, Lunar Landing will deliver customers traditional English desserts fused with Southeast Asian flavours after owners

Andrew Penascoza and George Wong joined forces with professional chef Mico Yu.

Located at Unit 2/28A Hawker St, the bar will operate from 12pm to 11pm on weekends and 10pm on weeknights, next door to Seven Grounds – a cafe run by the same owners.

Customers – who are required to purchase a minimum one item per person – can also order spring rolls and churros, coupled with a wide range of tasty beverages.
