Lamborghini clocked at extreme speed in Adelaide’s north-west

A man has lost his licence after police pulled over a Lamborghini after spotting the luxury sports cars travelling at an extreme speed in the middle of the afternoon.

A Lamborghini driver has lost his licence after he was caught allegedly driving at an extreme speed in broad daylight.

Police say the car was detected almost 55km/h over the speed limit at Gillman on Sunday at 2.45pm when officers conducting speed detection duties clocked the car on the Port River Expressway.

The car was going at 144km/h in a 90km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped and the 30-year-old driver from Athelstone was issued with a $1997 fine and a six-month instant loss of licence.

An SA police spokesman quipped on FIVEAA: “1997 is a pretty good year because it’s the year the Crows won the premiership. But it’s probably a number he’d like to forget.”
