The 2025 Royal Adelaide Show is set to deliver more than showbags and fireworks, with thousands of casual jobs now up for grabs — some paying up to $58.16 an hour.
Running from August 30 to September 7, the state’s biggest annual event will rely on more than 10,000 workers and volunteers to keep it humming — and with pay rates well above the minimum wage, the race for positions has begun.
Applications are open for a wide variety of jobs, including ride operators, showbag sellers, security staff, labourers, hospitality workers, and sales and tasting roles inside the Taste SA Pavilion.
Among the major employers is Australian Green Clean, which is seeking to fill up to 150 additional roles — including day and overnight cleaners and bin runners responsible for keeping the Showgrounds sparkling.
Green Clean chief executive Charlie Sykes said her team played a vital role in the smooth running of the event.
“Our Australian Green Clean staff are integral to the success of the Show,” Ms Sykes said.
“We’re there to make sure the environment is clean, hygienic, and safe for the public — and our goal this year is to hit 98 per cent waste diversion from landfill.”
“We’re looking for 150 extra staff on top of our existing team.
“Super is paid on top of wages, and we pay according to the Cleaning Services Award.”
Ms Sykes said strong performers and “excellent staff” will be offered work beyond the Show.
The company has already helped divert more than 96 per cent of event waste from landfill in previous years, and will aim even higher this year.
Pay rates range from $32 an hour on weekdays to $58 on Sundays, with roles offering flexible shifts and a front-row seat to the Show’s behind-the-scenes action.
Some jobs are already live on employment platforms, with many more to be advertised in the coming weeks — so now’s the time to apply.
