Antonio Calvert takes out The Advertiser’s cutest baby crown

He may only be six weeks old but little Antonio is already winning big.

The heartwarming moment baby hears parents for the first time

Jenna and Lyndon Calvert waited six years for their baby boy and now he has been named the state’s cutest summer baby for 2025.

“We are so happy and cannot wait to tell him when he is older,” Mrs Calvert said.

When the Two Wells couple found out they were pregnant with Antonio they “could not believe it”.

“We went down the IVF path, we started the process and then we ended up trying a few other paths that just didn’t work out and then I naturally fell pregnant last year,” Mrs Calvert said.

“It felt too good to be true.”

Mrs Calvert had a picture perfect pregnancy and was booked in for her induction at 37 weeks.

“Antonio was a very small baby and they picked that up in my scans from about 28 weeks … he was really healthy just growing slowly,” Mrs Calvert said.

Knowing that she had a low pain threshold, the 29-year-old elected to have an epidural.

“My contractions came on very quickly and very hard,” Mrs Calvert said.

“I said to the midwife ‘I’m still feeling everything, am I meant to, I feel pain’ and they said ‘you should not be feeling anything or very minimal’.”

Mrs Calvert’s epidural had not worked and despite being provided other pain medication, the exhaustion finally took over and she chose to have a caesarean.

The new mum said it was her husband’s support and knowledge that their bub would soon be born that kept her going.

“It was the happiest moment of our lives,” Mrs Calvert said about the moment the pair became mum and dad.

“We’re just excited to see like who he grows into, and the type of person he’s going to be.”

Miracle baby Isaac

After enduring four rounds of IVF and seven embryo transfers to have their first son, Elysia and Kieran Andrews faced the process again in hopes of welcoming a second child.

“Our first round of IVF was a big shock for us when we only had one embryo, and then we transferred that little one, and that didn’t work and then we sort of did round after round,” Mrs Andrew said.

“It was very challenging … we wanted to be hopeful, but also realistic every time we did another round.”

Fortunately, after 18 months the couple fell pregnant with their first son, Spencer who was born in March 2022.

“We were hopeful that we would be able to give him a sibling, but we were really sick (at the) thought we (didn’t) know how many attempts we (would) have in us (that) time around,” the Vale Park mum said.

The family headed back to the IVF clinic in May last year and were “heartbroken” after an egg retrieval led to only one fertilised egg.

“We weren’t too optimistic that it would work knowing that it took a lot of attempts to get pregnant the first time but luckily he was the little embryo that cooked … and it worked,” Mrs Andrews said.

Baby Isaac joined the trio in January to the delight of his parents and his big brother, completing his family.

While Mrs Andrews said her second experience with IVF was somewhat daunting, she was able to turn to the love and joy that their three-year-old brought her.

“On the hard days, if we got bad news or a bad result, it sort of made it easier to know that we had (Spencer), we still had our one little miracle,” the 36-year-old said.

After all the injections, surgeries and difficult times, Mrs Andrews said seeing her boys together makes it all worth it.

“It’s very sweet,” she said.

He may only be two months old but little Richie Swanson is already showing major rock star potential.

The bub is even named after legendary Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.

“When I was pregnant, we went to over 20 gigs with him in my belly and he would always move around in my tummy … almost like he was dancing,” his mum, Tish Swanson said.

“Some of those songs we play for him now, and he moves and grooves with a massive smile on his face.”

Mrs Swanson and her husband’s love story is grounded in their passion for hard rock and metal music with the pair co-hosting community radio show, Rock Hard with Phil and Tish on PBAFM 89.7.

“Our first conversation we actually had over the phone, Phil asked me what my favourite song was (and) my answer, of course, was Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi and his answer was exactly the same,” Mrs Swanson said.

“We knew we were both in the radio industry for exactly the same things.”

Soon enough, sparks started to fly and the couple were married in December last year.

Richie joined the band in January, to the delight of older brothers, Axel and Eric – who are also named after music idols, Axl Rose and Eazy-E.

“He’s the light of everyone’s life at the moment, he’s the best thing,” Mrs Swanson said.

The family look forward to seeing Richie, who has been nominated as South Australia’s cutest summer baby, find his own soundtrack.
