Davoren Park man, 26, hospitalised after machete attack

A man is in hospital after being attacked by a group with a machete.

A man has been assaulted by a group not known to him armed with a machete in the northern suburbs overnight.

Just before 8.30pm on Saturday, police and ambulance crews were called to Mandeville St in Davoren Park after reports of an assault.

A 26-year-old man from the area told police he was walking down the street when a dark coloured Magna vehicle stopped nearby and a group of people not known to him got out.

One suspect assaulted the man with a machete, causing a laceration to his leg.

The 26-year-old was taken to hospital where he in being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Northern District Detectives and forensic investigators attended the scene.
