Two alleged Hells Angels have made a bail bid after a sophisticated drug enterprise involving methamphetamine and cocaine was allegedly uncovered.

Bradley Horlor, 28, and Scott Michael Kristian Smith, 38, applied for home detention bail in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday, after they were allegedly stung in the undercover police investigation.

The men’s arrests followed Serious and Organised Crime Branch investigations that saw multiple businesses and homes searched on Friday, May 31.

Detectives seized about 3kg of methamphetamine, 100g of cocaine, two cars and a motorcycle during their raids.

A prosecutor said they were opposed to bail for both men, as they were accused of supplying drugs to undercover operatives on multiple occasions between October 2023 and May 2024.

Mr Smith was allegedly seen coming and going to the Munno Para West “safe house” where large amounts of drugs were found, the court heard.

The court heard both men were on bail for charges of being present with two or more criminal organisation participants, which they are yet to plead to, at the time of the alleged offending.

Mr Horlor, of Munno Para, and Mr Smith, both of Munno Para West, are charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking, including large commercial drug trafficking.

Grant McDougall, 53, a 33-year-old Gawler South man, and a 29-year-old Munno Para woman was also arrested and charged with drug trafficking after the investigation. No pleas have been entered by any of the accused.

Jon Lister, for both men, told the court Mr Horlor had a young daughter with his pregnant partner who was due to give birth to another child in five weeks time.

The court heard Mr Horlor was in the process of constructing a food trailer business at the time of his arrest and was the breadwinner for this family

Mr Lister said the men’s criminal association charge allegedly involved a large group of Hells Angels going on a funeral memorial run in January.

“And in the process of that they were observed by police as participating in a ride on their motorbikes to that cemetery from that memorial service,” he said.

Mr Lister said Mr Horlor was of the belief that he wasn’t committing an offence as they weren’t being stationary in the alleged association.

Chief Magistrate Judge Mary-Louise Hribal ordered a home detention report for both men and adjourned the applications until next month.
