A man will likely face attempted murder charges after he allegedly stabbed a woman known to him multiple times. She is in a critical condition.

A man will likely be charged with attempted murder after a woman was critically injured in a stabbing at Smithfield Plains.
Paramedics and police rushed to Ballard Rd about 5.15pm Saturday and found a woman with stab wounds to her arm and chest.
The woman, 29, was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she remains in a critical, but stable, condition.
Police cordoned the area and found the suspected weapon used in the stabbing on nearby Hoole St.
About two hours later, police located a man in a public toilet at a fast food restaurant on Curtis Rd at Munno Para with self inflicted injuries.
The man left the restaurant and ran on to oncoming traffic on a nearby road, police say.
The Andrews Farm man, 32, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for a mental health assessment.
Following an investigation he was deemed the suspect for the earlier stabbing and will likely be charged with attempted murder on Sunday.
Police say both people were known to each other.
