One of the country’s biggest comedy acts is coming to Townsville, bringing their nostalgic comedy style and iconic characters from social media to the stage.
Sooshi Mango, made up of brothers Joe and Carlo Salanitri and friend Andrew Manfre, are well known on social media for their skits and characters based on their Italian family and the relatable comedy and cultural conventions that comes with growing up in an ethnic household.
With much-loved jokes on Italian cooking, traditions, culture and etiquette, the group don wigs, gold chains and moustaches to get into character.
Founded in 2015 the group have over 1 billion views online, their own podcast aptly named Spicy Meatballs, a wine brand inspired by their characters and have started writing their first feature-length film coming in 2026.
In a full circle moment paying homage to their Italian roots, Sooshi Mango opened their own Italian restaurant in Carlton, Victoria in 2023.
Member Carlo Salanitri said they are excited to get on the road for their latest tour.
“Australia we are back, and we are bringing you all our biggest and best show yet. Our Nonna would be proud,” he said.
Brother Joe said the show is more than just jokes, but a complete experience.
“We are going above and beyond to make sure this is not just a comedy show but a memorable comedy event for the people. It’s going to be a comedy rock concert,” he said.
An international tour earlier this year saw the comedians travel locations including London, New York, LA, Toronto, with their 2022 Australian tour selling over 100,000 tickets.
Group member Joe Salanitri said the show is set to be ‘a comedy rock concert’.
“We are going above and beyond to make sure this is not just a comedy show but a memorable comedy event for the people,” he said.
