INSPIRED by the place LA’s most beautiful go to eat, drink and shop, comes a hot new Brisbane dining and retail concept.
Evra will launch in Newstead’s trendy Long Island Gasworks Precinct, boasting a sleek bar, European-inspired restaurant and innovative marketplace.
Taking the place of Long Island Refuel on Longland St, the light and bright venue will feature a glamorous, covered courtyard dining space lined with plants that spills off the main restaurant. Adjacent will be a laid-back, cosy bar area with high tables serving everything from organic wine to low-calorie cocktails.
While on the other side will be the marketplace – a clean, modern grocer, coffee haunt and bottle shop, where patrons can also grab nutritious and delicious meals for on the go.
The venue is the vision of Cavcorp property developer Damien Cavallucci and fitness guru and restaurateur Leon McNiece inspired by some of LA’s hottest eateries and dining destinations, with McNiece to run it, and Cavallucci as the landlord.
“You can sit outside amongst the greenery, or sit at the bar and have a beer, an organic wine or a margarita, or go to the marketplace and grab a selection of salads and meat or fish to take home,” Cavallucci said.
“This is a place you can eat at everyday, where you know the eggs are free range, the meat is organic and it’s good quality food and locally sourced.”
Evra will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the marketplace will stock up to 100 essential everyday products, as well as a range of wines and possibly even pre-batched cocktails. Bellissimo coffee will be available, and the food offering will be presented in a beautiful display cabinet where patrons can see a range of chef-cooked healthy salads, vegetables and proteins.
“You don’t always have time to sit down and have a meal and you want to have something that you know is healthy so there will be a carefully selected array of food that people will walk out knowing they’ve had a home cooked meal,” Cavallucci said.
And even more exciting for residents who live in the glam Lucent residential tower upstairs is the Evra offering will eventually be rolled out as room service ordered through an app.
“Hopefully it becomes a local institution,” said Cavallucci.
Evra is tipped to open in about April next year, around the corner from the precinct’s soon to open new world-class, celebrity bakery Baker D. Chirico.
