The seconds leading up to the moment a teenager allegedly stabbed at the Royal Darwin Show have been revealed in a distressing video, which cuts off as screams and panic unfold.
It was an incident which caused chaos at the showgrounds on Saturday evening and left a 15-year-old boy covered in blood and in a “serious condition”.
NT Police have since charged another 15-year-old boy in relation to the alleged assault.
In footage shared with this masthead, the moments leading up to the alleged incident and the resulting panic have been captured.
The 18-second clip shows a group of male teenagers fighting in Sideshow Alley.
One of the boys in a black basketball jersey, who 10 seconds later is allegedly stabbed, is punched and pushed to the ground.
He quickly pushes himself up and runs at one of his alleged attackers in a black T-shirt.
The teen starts punching the male in black while being helped by another boy in blue.
However, the youth in a black T-shirt fights them off before grabbing the boy in a black basketball jersey and hauling him off to the side.
A couple of people appear to try and break up the fighting before two security guards run in, one breaking up the two youths.
The video pans to the floor before focusing on the grabbed youth who is left swaying on his feet in what appears to be a state of shock with a bystander and security guard appearing to hold him up.
Blood is covering his chest.
Rising screams can be heard in the background as bystanders watching on suddenly realise what has happened.
The camera swings to the right before ending abruptly to the sounds of panicked screaming.
On Sunday, NT Police charged an alleged attacker with recklessly endangering life and possessing, carrying and using a controlled weapon.
At the time, a spokesman said the victim remained in a stable condition in hospital.
Over the weekend organisers for the Royal Darwin Show thanked first responders and security guards who reacted quickly to the alleged incident.
Local leaders Chief Minister, Lia Finocchiaro and Opposition leader, Selena Uibo, also released statements condemning the incident.
Officers are still urging anyone with information to contact them on 131 444 and quote reference P25199834.
The incident comes as parliament is scheduled to make changes to the Youth Justice Act this week.
