A well-established cellar door in South East Queensland is up for grabs for the first time in six years for a steal, as the owners prepare to move across the country.
St Jude’s Cellar Door & Bistro in Ballandean, southwest of Brisbane has only flourished in the aftermath of a global pandemic, with current owner and chef Rob Davidson hanging up his apron due to health concerns.
“It’s time to turn my focus to taking care of myself,” he said.
He bought Mary Byrnes Wine in 2018 and took the lease where he and his partner Jude Hodgson have been operating St Jude’s at its New England Highway location since April 2019.
When Sirromet Wines founder Terry Morris caught wind of Mr Davidson’s plan to open a cellar door opposite its vineyard, he asked him to act as Sirromet’s first and only Granite Belt cellar door.
Mr Davidson said tourism in Ballandean boomed post Covid-19, with the cellar door’s location off a major highway making it easily accessible and attractive to those passing through.
“There’s a lot of new interest and investment in the area, Ballandean is really becoming a food destination,” he said.
As a motorsports fan, Mr Davidson had the pleasure of entertaining a large group of the Red Bull racing team in 2023 and said it was a proud memory that would stay with him forever.
Mr Davidson said he’s already received a number of serious inquiries into the business and is currently managing the sale privately at walk-in-walk-out price of $75,000 plus SAV. For more details contact the business directly.
